Frequently Asked Questions
About voice misreading
- Make sure that the user dictionary is not the source of misreadings.
- In particular, if "Automatically add ruby to the dictionary" is turned on, unintended strings may be added to the dictionary.
- You can use the app's "Replacement Test" feature to see which user dictionary entries are used. (Settings screen > Replacement Test)
- The iOS version is also affected by the "Pronunciations" setting in the "Settings" app. (Settings app > Accessibility > Spoken Content > Pronunciations)
- The reading is done using the OS (Android/iOS) API, and there is a possibility that the reading error is caused by a bug in that API. In that case, the app cannot correct it.
Audio stops when the device is put to sleep.
Android version
To continue audio in sleep mode, try the following
- Turn off the battery saver (Settings > Battery > Battery Saver)
- Set the app battery usage to unlimited (Settings > Apps > NovelVoice > App Battery Usage)
iOS version
Conflicts with other audio playback apps may cause audio to stop during sleep. Task-killing all apps and then restarting [NovelVoice] may improve the situation.
